SI Tip of the Day - Don't manually renumber inside of Subparts!

Don't worry about manually renumbering subpart paragraph numbers. When you use the Print/Publish dialog box, it can do that for you in the output files. (However, if there are numbered or lettered lists inside of TXT, LST or ITM tags, these are not automatically handled, so do manually renumber/reletter them).

  1. Great tip. However, for the new Specsintact user this can be confusing when reconciling reports. The reports reference an Article, Paragraph or Subpargraph. The reference is to the paragraph numbering within the tags not the "typed in" paragraph numbers. "SPT = 1.4.2" "TTL" 1.4.3 Plywood "/TTL" The report will be referencing the SPT 1.4.2 not the number between the TTL tags. In this post the < and > will not be shown since the website does not like those characters.

  2. In newer versions of SpecsIntact there is now automatic paragraph numbering. (Except for LST and ITM tags, those are still manual)
